Helpful Info
Woodcrest is the daughter church of Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie. Established in 1992, before having a building, we met in places like Pinewood Elementary School and the Rosemount Community Center. In 1997, we bought the land that would later be the grounds for our current building and on December 17th, 2000, the very first service was held here at what is now widely recognized as Woodcrest Church in Eagan, MN. God continues to be faithful to His church and we believe the best is yet to come!
Woodcrest is part of a network of churches called Converge Worldwide. Converge is a movement of churches working to help people meet, know and follow Jesus. They do this by starting and strengthening churches together worldwide. For 170 years Converge has helped churches bring life change to communities in the U.S. and around the world through church planting and multiplication, leadership training and coaching and global missions.

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is our supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21)
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1, 3; 4:24; Acts 5:3, 4; Romans 1:20; Ephesians 4:5, 6; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; Romans 9:5; Titus 2:13)
We believe that man and woman were created in the image of God, that they sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and become guilty sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:26, 27; 3:1-24; Romans 3:25; 5:12-18; 1 John 1:8)
We believe that the Lord Jesus died for our sins according to the scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; that He rose victorious from the grave on the third day; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. (Isaiah 53; Matthew 20:28; John 3:16; Romans 3:24-26; 5:1; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:7; 1 John 2:2; Matthew 28:6; Romans 10:9; 1 Corinthians 15:14)
We believe that the Holy Spirit came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. (John 16:5-15; Romans 8:16, 23, 26, 27)
We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17)
We believe that all who come by grace through faith to accept the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. (John 3:3, 5; 1:12, 13; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9)
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting joy of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. (John 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:4-6; 11-15)
We believe that all Christians are baptized by the Holy Spirit when they are born again. We believe that water baptism by immersion is the biblical testimony of the professed believer in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:28-41, 47; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 8:36-40; 10:47; 18:8; Romans 6:3, 4; 1 Corinthians 12:13)
We believe that those who partake of the Lord's Supper should be born-again believers, walking in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:42-46; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)
We believe that there is one true church universal, comprised of all those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord. The Scriptures command believers together to devote themselves to worship; prayer; teaching of the Word; observance of baptism and the Lord's Supper; fellowship; service to the body through the development and use of talents and gifts; and outreach. (Romans 12:4-6; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; Ephesians 2:19-22; 4;12-16; Heb. 10:24, 25)
We believe that all Christians are commanded to participate in spreading the Gospel to all people groups. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)
Statement on the Sanctity of Human Life:
We believe that all human life is sacred and reated by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Psalm 139)
Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexual Orientation:
-We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen 1:26-27). Rejection of one's biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
-We believe that the term "marriage" has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Gen 2:18-25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor 6:18, 7:2-5, Heb 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
-We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Cor 6:9-10)
-We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Woodcrest as the local Body of Christ and to provide a biblical role model to the church members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Woodcrest Church in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Stetement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matt 5:16; Phil 2:14-16; 1 Thess 5:22).
-We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor 6:9-11).
-We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Woodcrest Church.
Marriage Policy:
Because God has ordained marriage and defined it as the covenant relationship between a man, a woman, and Himself, Woodcrest Church will only recognize marriages between a biological man and a biological woman. Further, the pastors and staff of Woodcrest Church shall only participate in weddings and somnize marriages between one man and one woman. Finally, the facilities and property of Woodcrest Church shall only host weddings between one man and one woman.
