Q: Do I have to dress up?
A: At Woodcrest you'll see lots of people in business casual, khakis or jeans and not so many in suits and dresses. You're welcome to dress casually, and come as you are.
Q: What if I come from a different faith background?
A: Woodcrest is Biblical and evangelical in its core beliefs. People who attend Woodcrest come from a wide variety of faith backgrounds - Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, etc. Together, we focus on biblical truth and teachings, and pursue an active relationship with Jesus Christ. You don't have to be a member of a specific religious denomination to do that.
Q: I'm interested in dedicating my child....
A: It is Woodcrest Church’s custom to offer Child Dedication services for infants and children. This is a special time of public ceremony and personal commitment when the child’s parents and the church family promise to raise the child in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Dedication services are held throughout the year on Sunday mornings as part of the regular worship hour. Parents meet with pastoral staff prior to a scheduled dedication to learn more about the event and for the pastor to learn more about the family and the child. The church family, in witnessing this ceremony, pledges itself to the spiritual care and education of the child. It is a reminder to the congregation that all of the children of the church belong to God and are our mutual responsibility.

Q: How can I join Woodcrest Church?
A: The first step toward membership at Woodcrest is to participate in a class called, Discovering Woodcrest Membership. If a person wants to join Woodcrest, this class is a prerequisite. However, attending the class does not require you to take the next steps in the membership process. Some people participate in this class to simply learn more about Woodcrest and consider membership at a later date.
The second step in the membership process is the completion of a membership application (handed out and explained during Discovering Woodcrest Membership). Following the return of the application, the individual meets for a very brief interview with the Membership Interview Team. This team, made up of two lay people from the church, hear the interviewees’ personal testimony and spiritual commitment and pray for the individual.
Finally, following a successful interview, the Membership Interview Team recommends, to the pastoral staff, the individual for membership. Upon this recommendation the individual immediately becomes a member and is ratified and welcomed into membership at the next church business meeting.

Q: Is Woodcrest Church part of a denomination?
A: We are a community church welcoming people from many denominational backgrounds. Woodcrest is associated with Converge (Baptist General Conference). Woodcrest is also a daughter church of Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie and is affiliated with the Willow Creek Association.
Q: How do I get involved?
A: Attending Sunday worship is a good start, but we hope you'll move beyond being just part of the weekend crowd. You can further your faith, meet people, and learn more about life as a Christ-follower by joining a small group, taking classes, and serving in the church in an area you're interested and gifted in. Make sure you swing by the Connect and Serve stations on a Sunday morning to find out more about getting involved!
Q: What if I'm not even sure I believe in God?
A: If you haven't made a decision to accept Christ, but would like to know more about it, you've come to the right place! That means you're asking questions about spiritual things and how they might relate to your life. You are welcome to explore answers to your questions here. If you would like to speak with someone about your questions please contact the church office any time.
Q: How do people at Woodcrest express worship?
A: “Worship” involves communicating with God from our hearts. We believe in a variety of different expressions in worshiping God. On the platform, you might see worship leaders clapping or raising their hands while they sing and the musicians playing various instruments. Sometimes visual or performing arts are also incorporated into the worship. As a Woodcrest attender, you are welcome to worship God in a way you feel expresses your heart toward him. For some, that's quietly reflecting on the words, for others, that's clapping and singing out.
Q: Will I understand the message even if I don't know much about the Bible?
A: Our messages are prepared to connect with people's lives by using the ageless wisdom of Scripture and presenting it in a creative, yet straight forward way. The services are designed to be easily understood by individuals checking out what it really means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. (But here's a secret: Even long-time Christians find these services invaluable to their spiritual and personal growth.)
Q: What if I'm interested in getting married at Woodcrest?
A: Woodcrest offers pastoral services and the church sanctuary to couples who are regular attenders of Woodcrest, and who wish to hold weddings at the church. Pre-marriage counseling helps couples who regularly attend this church to begin their marriage on the right foot. It is required for those getting married at Woodcrest Church, or by a Woodcrest pastor. Call the church office (651-681-9800) for more information.
