Coronavirus Update 3-14-2020
To honor the recommendations of our governing agencies who have urged extreme caution, and to love our neighbors, many of whom are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel worship services and all programs on Sunday, March 15 and 22 as well as other regularly scheduled programs and activities until further notice. We will continue to reevaluate this situation and make future decisions about Sunday services and weekday programs on a week-to-week basis. We will communicate these decisions on our website and through our weekly Enews.
This decision was uniquely challenging in that tomorrow was to be the final Sunday for our Worship Pastor, Misty Anderson. It had been our plan that she would bring the morning message, and we would honor her in the services and with a reception. In consultation with Misty, she supported the decision to not have services tomorrow. We will look to a future Sunday where she will preach and we can adequately honor her.
What does this mean for us practically?
- Good news! We will be creating an online worship experience through our website – first with a video message tomorrow, Sunday, March 15. Look for this message mid to late morning on our webpage.
- Communication will actually increase rather than decrease, so please continue to pay attention to all Woodcrest updates from our website, email, and social media. If you are not currently signed up to receive our Enews, please contact the church office if you would like access to this communication tool (651-681-9800 or email email@example.com).
- Woodcrest staff will still be hard at work. During this time, feel free to call or email. There may be some instances when the phone will not be answered so please listen for the prompts and leave a voicemail if needed. We will do our best to respond in a timely fashion.
- Faithful financial giving will be vital to keep our ministry healthy during this time. It would be especially helpful if each of us would take a step of faith and sign up for scheduled monthly online giving. You can do so by clicking here. Mailed in payments can be sent to this address:

Woodcresters, what sends the rest of the world into panic-mode should send the Church into prayer-mode. These are unique times and they remind me of what Jehoshaphat prayed in the middle of a crisis, “we do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you, Lord” (2 Chronicles 20:12). In this time of unprecedented challenges and confusion, we must be people who keep our eyes on the Lord. The good news is that the coronavirus situation did not sneak up on God nor surprise Him. So, let us set our faces to seek Him in these trying times.
Keeping my eyes on the Lord,
