Las Vegas, located in the arid Mojave Desert of Nevada, is an internationally renowned major resort city for gambling, shopping, fine dining, and entertainment. Currently the fastest growing city in the United States, the Las Vegas economy is driven primarily by the hospitality and tourism industries. Amidst the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip, lays a lost and depraved city crying out for the truth. Las Vegas is in a unique situation. It brings in billions in revenue with the help of over 300 casinos and hotels, yet leads the country in home foreclosures and school dropout rates. The city's tolerance for various forms of adult entertainment has earned it the title of “Sin City.” Aside from the overwhelming presence of drug, alcohol, and gambling addictions, the area suffers from one of the highest suicide and divorce rates of the U.S. An unsettling number of homeless youth roam the streets, often falling victim to drugs, drinking, pornography, and prostitution. The homeless population of Las Vegas has nearly doubled in the last decade, while the city suffers from a severe shortage of shelters.
We will partner with AIM.
This mission will be a great opportunity to take our team through a week of ministry and cultural education on the streets of Las Vegas. As you build relationships with the locals in the community, you’ll be able to experience the culture beneath the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip. Potential outreaches include prayer walks, construction, door to door evangelism, sports evangelism, nursing home ministry, prison ministry, orphanage ministry, children’s ministry, community outreach/feeding, listening prayer, serving the homeless, and many other possibilities. Las Vegas is a community in dire need of the love and truth of Jesus Christ.

Crownpoint, New Mexico, is home to the beautiful Navajo nation. The Navajo Nation extends into the states of Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico, covering over 27,000 square miles of unparalleled beauty. It is larger than 10 of the 50 states in America. The Navajo Nation is recognized as the largest tribe in the United States, with over 180,000 members.
The Navajo nation, With 70% unemployment and a $4,000 per year annual family income, feels more like Mexico than the United States. These economic realities have led to below-adequate living conditions that have sadly become acceptable over the years. This is a part of the country that is forgotten by many. But this summer we will seek to change that through our week of ministry opportunities through Next Step Ministries.
Real change does not occur from simply painting a house; it comes from building a home. Our work project will focus on meaningful construction projects. Whether it is adding a bathroom on a resident’s house, framing a house, or hanging sheet rock, we will be doing real work and making real changes. We will also have opportunities to build relationships through a Vacation Bible School and a community cookout.
